South Shore Event Videographer & Drone Coverage

Event videography from Main Street Drone combines professional cameras on the ground with 6K aerial drone footage where the venue and airspace allow. We capture key highlights, speeches, performances, audience reactions and venue details, then shape the footage into a polished event film with editing, color grading, sound design and music. Coverage options are flexible, so tell us how you plan to share your video and we will tailor the coverage to your occasion.

Only in limited cases. FAA rules allow a drone to fly over people only when they are directly taking part in the operation, are under a covered structure or inside a stationary vehicle, or when the flight meets specific operations-over-people requirements. Sustained flight over an open-air crowd, such as hovering, circling or flying back and forth above it, is limited to certain drone categories that comply with Remote ID. We plan aerial coverage around your crowd rather than over it.

It depends on the location and date. Boston Logan is surrounded by Class B airspace, where drone flights need prior air traffic control authorization, and Massport prohibits unauthorized drones near its airports. Drones are barred within 3 nautical miles of major stadium events, such as NFL and MLB games, from one hour before to one hour after. In June 2026, Boston Police warned that flying in No Drone Zones at major summer events can bring fines up to $100,000. We check every location in advance, but authorization is never guaranteed.

Often, yes. On Massachusetts DCR property, including state parks, reservations and beaches, drone take-offs and landings generally require a DCR special use permit, and commercial activity requires a DCR permit. Webb Memorial State Park in Weymouth, where DCR rents a pavilion for events, is DCR property. Cape Cod National Seashore prohibits launching, landing or operating drones without the superintendent’s written approval. Share your event location early so permit needs can be reviewed during planning. Approval is never guaranteed.

Book as early as you can, especially if you want aerial footage. When a venue sits in controlled airspace, such as near Boston Logan or another airport, the FAA asks that FAADroneZone airspace authorization requests be submitted at least 60 days before the flight, and LAANC further-coordination requests at least 72 hours ahead. Some venues and parks also require their own permission or permits for drones, so share your date and location early.

Event videography pricing depends on the details of your event, including how long you need coverage, how many locations are involved, whether you want aerial drone footage, the edited films and other deliverables you would like, and any airspace authorization or permit requirements for your venue. Share your event date, location and the coverage you have in mind, and we will prepare a custom quote.
